I was disappointed to read that Lenaise E Dove (Bus forced me into car travel!, Letters, February 21) has been experiencing such unreliable journeys on the 107 (New Barnet to Edgware Station).
The service your reader described is not satisfactory. There have been problems on the 107 that have been made worse by various roadworks in the area. London Buses has introduced measures into the timetable to improve reliability and I understand that roadworks in the area have recently finished. We are working with Metroline (the operator) to take further action as necessary.
More and more people are using London's buses and the Mayor's transport strategy outlines how the bus network across London is being transformed. I hope that Lenaise will give the 107 another chance before resorting to using her car.
