A Harry Potter-style wizard and a magic owl will open a Christmas fair featuring interesting animals and fun activities in Borehamwood next Thursday.
The Professor Dumbledore lookalike will launch Hertsmere Borough Council's Environmental Health Christmas Fair, at the village hall, in Shenley Road.
The event, from 10am to 4pm on Thursday, December 6, will focus on issues such as pest control, food safety, pollution, recycling and energy efficiency.
Schools and residents are invited to attend the event, where they will be able to meet foxes and spiders, and learn about hygiene when handling animals.
Admission is free and the fair will also include displays by the Fire Service and road safety officers, quizzes and prizes.
