Firefighters were called to a Marconi test unit in Elstree Way, Borehamwood, on Tuesday after a lithium battery exploded. The battery blew up when it was tested at around 3.30pm, and filled the unit with smoke. Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus to ensure that the fire was extinguished.
