A balaclava-clad man attacked a car with a baseball bat at a junction in Elstree on Tuesday evening.
A red Fiat Punto was driving along Dagger Lane, near its junction with the A41, when a white minibus tried to overtake. When the car stopped at a T-junction, the minibus overtook the car, stopped and the driver got out.
The driver and passenger of the Punto were in the car while the man attacked their vehicle with a baseball bat. Both were unharmed.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened at around 5.45pm. The attacker is described as around 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall, of slim build, wearing a black balaclava, navy blue hooded top, denim jeans and black gloves.
PC Sean Lannon is investigating. He said: “This incident would have caused the people in the Punto much distress and I am appealing to anyone who saw the incident.
