Maybe some Relief is in sight?

I know that provision of Public Toilets in Borehamwood is a serious business however, I would like to apologise in advance for my inability to resist the most obvious of toilet puns.

After many months of discussion and negotiation, it now appears that the Public toilet scheme in Borehamwood has once again hit a bureaucratic clog. The council has publically guaranteed further movement on this matter for the next meeting of the executive. So although we are going to be inconvenienced for a wee bit longer, relief is in sight for Borehamwood shoppers.

The Labour group had originally put forward a motion to build purpose built toilets on Shenley Road however, as the ruling Tory group agreed in principal with the need to provide toilet facilities, they were somewhat less than enthusiastic about the costs involved, reminding us (as always) that the council is not flushed with cash. So when that plan was brushed aside, an alternative scheme was floated where the council would pay high street businesses to allow shoppers to use their toilets. Although there were some scurrilous rumours that shoppers would be asked to "pay as you go" for this service, we have been assured that the public won't have to spend a penny.

Even though we now appear to be on a roll, you can rest assured that your local Labour Group will continue to press the council on this subject and will be keeping a log of all activity on your behalf. Let us hope that this time the project pans out and doesn’t run out of gas.

Trying to think of toilet puns is driving me a little potty if not entirely around the bend, I'm drained, got to run!

I know, I know, I can hear your groans from here, I'm sorry. Have a good weekend!
