More than 1,000 bicycles were stolen in Hertfordshire last year, according to figures released by Hertfordshire police.
The sums, released as part of a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, reveal that 1,051 bikes were stolen in total.
October saw the most thefts, with 136 bicycles stolen, followed by June and July.
However, December recorded the least with just 47 of the vehicles taken.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Officers work hard to tackle bike thefts across the county and if you believe your bike has been stolen then please report this to us online via herts.police.uk/report or by calling 101.
“Our local neighbourhood policing teams hold bike marking events, to help protect bike owners from opportunistic thieves.
“At these events, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team are on hand to security mark bicycles free of charge and record details on the national Bike Register database.
“We would encourage cyclists to mark their bikes as this only takes minutes to complete, and if your bike is ever lost or stolen or subsequently recovered, it’s easier to return it if it’s marked.
