A mum was “seriously injured” after a dog attacked her while she was playing with her children in a park.

The victim was with her kids on the swings in Kenilworth Park, Borehamwood, when what is believed to be an English bulldog gained access and bit her knee.

Herts Police say she suffered a serious injury that required surgery.

Following the attack on Saturday (January 21) afternoon, officers from the Borehamwood Safer Neighbourhood Team, supported by a dog unit, seized the dog from an address this morning (January 26).

The dog will be looked after in kennels while the investigation continues, a Herts Police spokesperson said.

In a social media post, they wrote: “It’s against the law to let a dog be dangerously out of control.

“Even if your dog doesn’t hurt someone it is still an offence to allow your dog to be out of control in a way that makes someone worried that it might injure them.”
