Hertfordshire residents are being warned to wrap up warm this week as the Met Office issued an amber warning of severe weather.
It comes as the forecaster shared that there is a 90% chance of a severe drop in temperatures and icy conditions in eastern England.
The warning is in place from 6pm Wednesday, December 7 to 8am Monday, December 12, with much of England covered.
Residents have also been warned of the increased health risk to vulnerable people, who have been encouraged to be with others and ensure access to warm food and drink.

Hertfordshire warned of severe weather
Cold conditions will hit the region as air from the Arctic will spread south across England.
Very cold nights are also expected with widespread frosts and in some areas, potentially severe frost.
During the day, temperatures will be just above freezing with overnight temperatures continuing to trend downwards.
A Met Office spokesperson shared: "This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services."
