An injured man was rescued by firefighters after he fell from scaffolding into the concrete basement of a building site.
Emergency services were called to the incident in The Rose Walk, Radlett, at 1.11pm yesterday (October 18).
Police, the ambulance service and three fire engines were sent to the scene and found a man injured after a six-foot fall.
A Herts Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews found a man who had fallen from a scaffolding tower on to concrete.
“Firefighters used specialist rescue equipment, working with paramedics to safely move the man to an ambulance, leaving him in the care of the ambulance service.”
The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust confirmed they were called to the road at 1.30pm yesterday to reports that a man had been injured in a fall.
A spokesperson said: “One ambulance attended and treated a male patient at the scene before transporting him to Watford General Hospital for further assessment and care.”
Police confirmed the incident has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive for further enquiries.
