A man in his 60s was rushed to hospital after he was hit by a car.

Emergency services were called to Porters Park Drive in Shenley at around 4.20pm yesterday (October 13).

Paramedics were seen treating a pedestrian by a zebra crossing, with firefighters and police officers also attending.

Police say one vehicle was involved which was a Toyota Aygo.

The pedestrian was taken to Watford General Hospital. Emergency services have not disclosed the severity of his injuries.

Porters Park Drive was temporarily closed at the junction with London Road.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.19pm yesterday [Thursday 13 October] to Porters Park Drive in Shenley with reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

“A community first responder was first on the scene to treat the patient and followed by an ambulance. The patient was transported to Watford General Hospital for further assessment and treatment.” 

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary added: Police were called at 4.25pm yesterday to reports of a collision. A white Toyota Aygo and a pedestrian were involved.

“The ambulance service also attended and the pedestrian, a man in his sixties, was taken to hospital.

“Officers put road closures in place while the incident was dealt with.”
