Anytime Fitness set to open in Borehamwood in mid-August

Anytime Fitness will breathe new life into the unit at Borehamwood Shopping Park that was previously occupied by the Frankie & Benny’s restaurant.

The venue will be open 24 hours and comes packed with "state-of-the-art" equipment including fully connected cardio equipment with streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify, a free weights area with dumbbells up to 50kg, functional training space and equipment as well as a dedicated area for group exercises classes.

With the club being franchised and locally owned, the team is already looking to embed itself within community and has donated raffle prizes for a £100,000 fundraiser for Ryley Keys, who lives in the town.

Ryley was told he would never walk after being born three months premature but at five-year-old, he stunned his parents by kicking a ball earlier this year in a clip that has gone on to be viewed over a million times.

Step by step, Ryley is getting strong but the youngster, who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, still needs physiotherapy costing £2,000 a month.

Eddie Sica, general manager of Anytime Fitness Borehamwood, said: "We’re excited to be closing in on an opening date for the club.

"I'm looking forward to putting community at the heart of our proposition and create an inclusive and welcoming environment that people of all fitness levels and experience can enjoy."

Mr Sica added: "As well as making our members feel welcome when we're in the gym, we want to make sure they feel valued and supported outside of it too which we feel will really set us apart.

"I've begun employing some of our full-time staff ready for our opening and it's been great that these jobs are going to highly motivated and talented people from Borehamwood and local areas."
