A flat has been partially shut down following complaints about it being linked to antisocial behaviour.

Police say only the tenant is allowed inside the property in Alma Court, Borehamwood for the next three months after a closure order was secured in court on June 23.

Anyone who breaches the order faces a fine or jail time.

The application was made by the town’s safer neighbourhood policing team in partnership with Clarion Housing, Hertsmere Borough Council and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Sergeant Matt Cann said: “We have worked closely with our partners and will be monitoring to ensure that this order puts a stop to the antisocial behaviour that was having a negative impact on those neighbouring the address.

“We also have the option of taking further legal action if required at the end of the three-month closure order period.

“If you have information about anti-social behaviour or suspected illegal activity in your neighbourhood, please do not hesitate to report it so that we can take the appropriate action."
