A man has been released police bail after they were arrested in connection with a stabbing in Borehamwood.

Police officers came across a 20-year-old man who had been stabbed in the stomach in the Aycliffe Road area of the town at around 8.10pm on April 29.

He was taken to hospital and although his injuries have been described as serious, they are not deemed life-threatening or life-changing, police say.

Officers investigating the stabbing quickly arrested a suspect - a 20-year-old man from Islington in north London.

He was detained on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but is currently on bail.

Aycliffe Road and Rossington Avenue were sealed off by police on the evening of April 29. As part of early enquiries, detectives were seeking to find out exactly where the stabbing took place.

Detective Sergeant Katie Stevens, who is investigating, said on April 30: "At this stage, it is unclear as to the exact location of the incident and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened to please contact us."
