Residents across Herts, London and Essex can expect windy weather today (April 7) after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.

Until 6pm this evening (April 7) you can expect some strong winds to batter the streets with gusts of up to 45mph predicted.

It will be coming in the west direction and is set to cause disruption to road, rail, and air transport.

With some bus and train services most likely to be affected you'll want to keep up to date with services via the TFL website.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Winds will strengthen across central England this morning with gusts widely 45-50 mph developing and a few places seeing gusts around 55 mph. Winds will ease from the west from later in the afternoon."

Elsewhere for the weather today you can expect some sunny spells with temperatures not too cold with highs of 12C.

But you will want to still bring an extra thick coat with the wind seeing temperatures drop quickly to just 6C.
