A man from has admitted being in possession of a weapon adapted for the discharge of CS gas in Borehamwood.

Ross Drummond, of Cheshire Drive in Leavesden, admitted that “without the authority of the Secretary of State” he was in possession of the weapon in Borehamwood on January 27 this year.

CS gas is the defining component of tear gas, commonly used as a riot control agent.

The 31-year-old was also in possession of a quantity of cannabis and cocaine on the same day, according to court documents.

He pleaded guilty at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 1, and was discharged conditionally for 12 months.

Drummond was also ordered to pay a £22 victim services surcharge, forfeit the drugs and had the gas cannister taken from him.
