Some properties in Borehamwood have no water supply this morning because of a burst water main.

Affinity Water says it is aware of an issue in the town that may be causing the problem for residents and businesses (February 14).

The supplier says the WD6 postcode has been affected, which includes Borehamwood, Elstree, and Well End. However, it appears the Kenilworth ward area of Borehamwood has mostly been affected.

According to its website, Affinity Water has found the leak and is currently carrying out repairs to the water main.

It said at 9.30am: "Our repair team are working hard to fix the burst pipe and get your water back to normal. Once we know how long this will take, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.

"We’re really sorry about this and thank you for your patience."

Affinity Water has reported a list of affected streets.

It includes Arundel Drive, Furzehill Road, Ashley Drive, Balmoral Drive, Cranes Way, Manor Way, Dacre Gardens, Ripon Way, Burghley Avenue, Carrington Avenue, Carrington Close, Grantham Green, Graveley Avenue, Cleveland Crescent, St Pauls Close, Tinwell Mews, Linster Grove, Willow Green, Lullington Garth, Masefield Avenue, Milton Drive, Monkswood Gardens, Vale Avenue, Hampton Close, Oak Farm, Sandringham Close, and Kimbolton Green.

A statement, which was issued at 7.30am, called on people to avoid using their washing machine, dishwasher, and electric appliances that use water until the problem has been resolved.

Those still with a water supply are recommended to put some in a kettle or fridge for drinking in case the water needs switching off for the repair.

It appears the problems today are separate to water supply issues residents may have faced over the weekend.
