A 14-year-old who lives near Watford has been charged with having a gun and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was granted conditional bail after a hearing at Stratford Magistrates’ Court last week.
He allegedly had the firearm and ammunition in Dublin Avenue, Hackney, on December 27 last year and was also charged with possession of cannabis on the same day.
The teenager, who was not present at the hearing, has denied the gun and ammunition offences and is set to go on trial.
Stratford Magistrates’ Court adjourned the case to enable a management hearing.
The 14-year-old has been given a 6pm-6am curfew, will be electronically monitored and has been banned from entering Hackney.
He is also not allowed to be in public without an adult family member and must sleep at his home address each night.
A court spokesperson said that after another hearing on Tuesday (January 18) he was remanded on bail until the next hearing on April 8.
