Borehamwood town centre is gridlocked this afternoon (Monday) as more people travel to get their coronavirus booster jab.

Boris Johnson announced on Sunday that the booster jab will be made available to every adult over 18 who has had a second dose of the vaccine at least three months ago amid the spread of the Omicron variant.

As a result, there is traffic chaos in Borehamwood as more people queue to get their jab at the vaccination centre in Allum Hall.

Traffic is moving very slowly in Shenley Road between the train station and Tesco, whilst queues are also forming on Theobald Street and Furzehill Road.

Borehamwood Times:

Google maps also shows there are queues in Allum Lane and Deacons Hill Road.

Borehamwood Times:

Parking is available at the vaccination centre, but the car park is small which means that it is taking some time for people to get in and out.

And because motorists are queuing to get in, it is causing queues back towards the town centre.
