A Covid vaccination walk-in clinic will be set up in Borehamwood this weekend with no appointment necessary.

Jabs will be given at St Teresa's Roman Catholic Church in Shenley Road on Sunday July 4.

Both first and second doses of the Pfizer and Astra Zeneca jabs will be available to anyone aged over 18.

Anyone yet to receive their first dose of the vaccine will be able to turn up at the vaccination centre and be jabbed, while anyone who was vaccinated eight weeks ago and is yet to receive their second dose can also walk in.

No ID is necessary and an NHS number is not required either and there is no need to make an appointment - you can just turn up and dependent on any queues or supply, be jabbed there and then.

The clinic is being run by the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group in Hertfordshire.

The clinic will be open from 10am until 1pm on Sunday.

The full address is: St Teresa's Roman Catholic Church, Shenley Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1TG.

If you would prefer a guaranteed booking time for your jab, book online at www.nhs.uk/covidvaccination or call 119.

Analysis published by Public Health England on June 14 shows two doses of Covid vaccines are "highly effective" against hospitalisation from the Delta variant - which is the most dominant strain in Hertfordshire and England.

The analysis suggests the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is 96 per cent effective against hospitalisation after two doses, while the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is 92 per cent effective against hospitalisation after 2 doses

Dr Mary Ramsay, head of immunisation at Public Health England, said: "These hugely important findings confirm that the vaccines offer significant protection against hospitalisation from the Delta variant.

"The vaccines are the most important tool we have against Covid-19. Thousands of lives have already been saved because of them.

"It is absolutely vital to get both doses as soon as they are offered to you, to gain maximum protection against all existing and emerging variants."
