LOVE ISLAND is set to air later this month and many people are still excited about the latest contestant line up.

Many of us can only dream about getting on the show and relaxing in the Love Island villa.

However, one man has taken this dream an extra step far and has created his very own Love Island inspired glamping area right in his garden.

The Secret Garden Glamping is on the border of West Lancashire and Merseyside, near Rainford.

Derry Green, who also works in a Transport Company, said he started construction of the glamping areas at the start of lockdown.

He said: “It was never my plan to start a glamping site- it’s just because I was bored and had nothing else to do when the first lockdown happened.

“I had bits and pieces of materials that I collected over the years and I wanted to make something by the side of the house- but never really knew what.

“Firstly, I built a deck with the kids and as days turned into months the project just kept getting bigger and bigger.”

Before Derry knew it, the glamping site had its own hot tub and sauna area- and he began to incorporate designs he has seen on reality TV into his creations.

He explained: “My ex-partner used to watch it all the time and I had to watch it in the background… it wasn’t meant to be a Love Island aesthetic to begin with- but that is what it evolved into.

“I took the firepit area and lights from Love Island and incorporated them into my glamping area.”

The Hideout can sleep up to 4 people and prices to book it start from £155 per night.

It has an outdoor covered hot tub with smart TV, sauna, outdoor shower, outdoor cooking area, fire pit and swing chair.

All of this is covered by Love Island-esque festoon lights.

Inside the pod there is full underfloor heating, ensuite, high speed internet and a smart TV.

After placing this first glamping area on Airbnb, Derry said bookings went “absolutely ballistic” and within three or four days it was booked up for a year.

Noting the accomodation's popularity, Derry sought to extend his glamping site and got planning permissions to build more.

“Each one is centered around the same theme with a fire pit, sauna, hot tub and decking area," he explained. “However, each one is still unique and has its own twist.”

“One has an outdoor shower and outdoor cooking area and The Lodge has an outdoor Swedish bucket drop.”

One of the latest additions to the glamping site is a yurt which only opened a month ago.

Derry said this is one of his “favourites at the minute” as it contains an converted horse box which is now a quirky en-suite area.

However, if you were hoping to book a mini weekend break for the Love Island 2021 premiere, you’re out of luck.

The glamping areas are so popular that the first weekend slot isn’t available until February 2023 and a midweek booking isn’t available until September 2022.

However, Derry is hoping to solve this booking issue by making more glamping areas.

By August 1, Derry hopes to have five glamping areas in total and he also wants to have three additional areas built in 2022- and even hints at building a treehouse.

He also reveals that one of his newer designs called The Keep will feature its own outdoor bar, complete with swing chairs instead of your regular bar stool.
