HOUSE PRICES across the nation are soaring right now and new figures suggest that they have seen the strongest growth in nearly seven years.

Prices across Lancashire grew by 11 per cent over a 12 month period with East Lancashire town, Bacup, seeing the highest asking price growth in the county (13 per cent).

This is troubling news for Lancashire house hunters on a budget- but all hope is not yet lost.

There are still some bargain properties on the market- including this £50,000 Cheltenham Road property in Blackburn.

At the time of writing, it is the most affordable Blackburn house on the market (excluding flats).

While it is in need of some modernization, it has a lot of potential.

Once it has been fixed up, it could make a great family home- or even an investment property.

It’s just a five minute drive from the town centre, with Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School and St Silas CE Primary School within walking distance.

It’s a relatively new addition to the Zoopla website, only being listed for sale on May 7.

It’s also the sixth most popular Blackburn listing on the entire Zoopla website- so make sure to snap it up quickly if you want to buy it.

The property is a two bedroom terraced house with two reception rooms.

The master bedroom is a decent size and even benefits from its own open coal gas fire.

However, both rooms are in need of some refurbishment has the décor is dated and in need of a touch of paint and new carpet.

The lounge has real potential to be the heart of the home and it is fitted with a real, living flame gas fire.

The dining room also benefits from a gas flame fire.

While relatively small, a space-savvy refit and some innovative storage solutions could transform the kitchen.

However, it is in need of retiling and redecoration before it can be used.

Lockdown has made many people reassess their need for space- which is why this property’s rear yard could be a unique selling point for those on the property ladder.

It’s important to note that viewings are to be arranged through Proctors estate agency and are by appointment only.

They have not tested any apparatus, equipment, fixtures, fittings or services and so cannot verify if they are in working order or fit for their purpose.

Would you ever be tempted to invest in this bargain property?
