Members of the community will take part in an annual event helping clear Borehamwood of litter and rubbish.

The Rotary Club of the Studios of Elstree & Borehamwood is supporting the 'Great British Spring Clean' on Saturday May 29 and have identified a spot in the town that needs action.

Volunteers will meet in Stirling Way to spruce up the area which has become a hotspot for litter and other discarded waste.

The clean-up is part of Keep Britain Tidy's campaign and will take place from May 28 to June 13th.

Residents in Borehamwood are encouraged to get involved in the campaign by visiting their local parks, shopping areas, and streets and doing what they can to make the town look better and more cared for.

The last twelve months has shown our outdoor spaces have mattered to us more than ever before and those involved in Keep Britain Today believe an event like is a way to show respect for those special places that have helped us through the lockdown period.

People are also encouraged to take photos of their work and send it to Keep Britain Tidy.

Irmine Mason, from the Rotary Club, said: "As part of the Rotary Club's recent initiative of improving our environment, we believe passionately in action in our local community to make our area cleaner and healthier.

"We are also encouraging schools to take part, which will help children learn about and appreciate the natural surroundings they live in now and will enjoy in future."
