Police are investigating a suspicious incident where a man pulled over a woman in her car to falsely claim she had a flat tyre.

Hertfordshire Constabulary says the incident occurred in Radlett on the B556, Harper Lane, near to the Kingsley Green Hospital turning, between 6.45am and 6.55am on Monday, April 5.

The force says a woman was driving a black Smart Car when another vehicle flashed its lights at her to pull over.

The woman stopped her car, a man got out of his vehicle and approached claiming the Smart car had a flat tyre, which it did not.

The woman remained inside her car and drove away before reporting the incident to police.

The man is described as being white, around 5ft 11ins tall, of stocky build, in his late 30s to early 40s and clean shaven with dark brown hair.

He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, police say.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following the incident.

Detective Constable Vicky Sexton, who is investigating, said: “We are appealing for anyone who drove by on Harper Lane at the time of this incident to get in touch.

“If you saw the vehicles pulled over, or have dash cam footage of the incident, then please get in touch. If you believe something similar has recently happened to you please also make contact.

“If you are able to help I can be contacted directly via email at vicky.sexton@herts.pnn.police.uk
