A teenager has been charged with perverting the course of justice by detectives investigating an attempted murder.

She is the third person to be charged by police probing the shooting of a 16-year-old boy, who remains in hospital with life-changing injuries.

The boy was found with serious chest injuries near a roundabout in Borehamwood, where Manor Way and Ripon Way meet, at 10.50pm on August 4 last year.

Police say he had suffered a gunshot wound.

Armed police and the ambulance service attended the scene and a large area was taped off by police.

  • Courtney Leeds, 18, of Beethoven Road, Elstree, was charged on March 3 with perverting the course of justice. She has been remanded in custody.
  • Sean Price, 24, of Ipswich, Suffolk, has already been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm. He has been remanded in custody.
  • Joe Grange, 19, of Hartforde Road, Borehamwood has already been charged with perverting the course of justice. He has been remanded in custody.
  • A man from Borehamwood and a man from London have previously been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They have been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

A trial is scheduled to take place from September 13 at St Albans Crown Court.
