SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley is remaining patient in his pursuit of new players.

Reeco Hackett-Fairchild remains the Shrimpers' only addition in January so far.

And Molesley gave little away when again asked about the prospects of bolstering his squad.

"There’s nothing to report but sometimes if you have to be patient and we don’t want to bring in just anyone," said Molesley.

"I’m really impressed with the group we’ve got and we’re building something special here.

"To add to that we have to be clever with the ones we’re bringing in.

"We have to bring in better or as good as we've already got and they’re hard to find in January.

"That’s credit to the boys and how far they’ve come but it’s a tricky market and we don’t want to flood the group."

However Molesley is still looking to make more signings.

"We always want to get better and improve," said the Blues boss.

"We will always look to add the right person but it has to be the right person in the right areas.

"We’ve made huge strides but we need that to continue.

"We want competition for places and we need that strength in depth."
