Staying - John White is expected to sign a new deal at Southend United
JOHN White is close to committing his future to Southend United.
The 34-year-old defender's current contract expires at the end of the month.
But Blues boss Mark Molesley is confident the centre-back will be staying put.
"His contract isn’t over until the end of the month but I’m pretty certain that one is all agreed and will be announced in due course," said Molesley.
"With Macca (Alan McCormack) and Greg (Halford) staying they’ve shown what impact the experienced players have.
"I’m very hopefully John White will follow suit."
