September was when a statue of Graham Taylor was boarded up ahead of Watford's clash with Luton at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets and fierce rivals Luton met for the first time in 14 years in September and even though there were no fans, precautionary measures were put in place across the town in case of trouble.

There ended up being no trouble in the town, with there being a large police prescene for the game.

Hertsmere becomes 'area of concern' and pupils self-isolate

Hertsmere started to see a rise in coronavirus cases in September, which was blamed on house parties.

At one stage the borough was listed as an ‘area of concern’ with one of the highest Covid rates in the country, although just avoided being put in a local lockdown.

Pupils had also been returning to schools in September, although several across Hertfordshire reported that they had pupils self-isolating due to Covid-19.

Aldi opening delayed

The opening of St Albans' first budget supermarket was delayed in September.

Aldi was scheduled to open in Griffiths Way, near St Albans Abbey station, in the month, but the launch was put on hold.

The good news is St Albans will still have an Aldi store in the near future and is set to open in 2021.

Actor on coping with grief

Hollywood actor and former footballer Vinnie Jones discussed how he is coping with grief a year after losing his beloved wife Tanya.

"I didn’t seek help for grief at first but I do now,” the 55-year-old actor and former footballer reveals.

He added: "In the first six or nine months (after her death) there was too much to do. You think you’re coping but you’re actually not, until you sit and speak to somebody for three days a week. Then you realise how far away you were from coping."
