A primary school was broken into by a person armed with a mallet, police have said.
Police are investigating a burglary at The Orchard Primary School in Gammons Lane, Watford, in the early hours of Tuesday (December 1).
At around 6.40am, a window was smashed, Hertfordshire Constabulary said.
A Bluetooth speaker was reported stolen, police added.
Watford Police said on their Facebook page that officers had received calls of someone walking inside the school grounds with a bottle of alcohol and a mallet.
Officers attended the school and a man was later detained.
The Agora Learning Partnership, which runs The Orchard Primary School, has been contacted for comment.

- A 37 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
