Coronavirus cases are appearing in hundreds of schools across the country, so here is a map to help keep track of which schools were affected in the area.

Information about the names of schools that sent pupils home due to Covid-19 have been classed as ‘confidential’ since the start of term – meaning it has been difficult for the Observer to trace which schools have been affected.

Despite this, we have been keeping an eye out and reporting the schools that have been affected in the area.

We have traced 16 schools with confirmed Covid-19 cases, but it is likely there are many more unreported schools.

Many of these schools listed would no longer be affected as some range back to the start of September, but here are the schools that have been affected since the start of term.

  • St Clement Danes School, Rickmansworth – One member was told to self-isolate, but no one else is being asked to self-isolate at this time (as of statement on October 19).
  • Rickmansworth School  - A Year 10 pupil tested positive, and other pupils were asked to self-isolate at the start of therm.
  • Chorleywood Primary School - A number of pupils were told to self-isolate
  • The Reach Free School - the school confirmed positive cases.
  • St Joan of Arc Catholic School - the school confirmed positive cases.
  • Queen's School in Bushey - the school was notified of a confirmed case on September 24.
  • Hertswood Academy - A pupil, understood to be in year 11, developed symptoms around September 8. The school said confirmation of a positive test was only received on September 21.
  • Shepherd Primary School - We reported on September 17 that the school told several pupils to self-isolate. A source told the Observer that a student had tested positive for coronavirus.
  • Loreto College - The college said on September 16 that students had been asked to self-isolate.
  • Windermere JMI School - It was confirmed that the school had asked a number of pupils to self-isolate, although the students had returned to school by the time of our first report on September 16.
  • Skyswood School - The school said on September 16 that students had been asked to self-isolate.
  • Hartsbourne Primary School - The school said on September 15 that pupils were asked to self-isolate. The Observer understood that the self-isolating pupils would mainly be from Year 2, after at least one child from that year group tested positive for Covid-19.
  • Hertsmere Jewish Primary School - The Jewish Academy Trust said on September 8 that a “small number of pupils” had tested positive.
  • Kings Langley Primary School - Two staff members - The school confirmed on September 9 that a pupil had tested positive.

  • Yavneh College - It was reported on September 3 and 4 that an outbreak in Hertsmere was linked to teenage house parties involving Yavneh College students.
