A new piece of play equipment has been installed by Buckhurst Hill Parish Council at the Kings Place play area as part of a £15,000 improvement project.
The new slide, which includes various climbing features, was officially launched by parish council chairman councillor Smruti Patel who cut a ribbon to mark the work on the afternoon of Thursday, October 15.
The parish council has funded the new slide and new safety surfacing and has also carried out repairs to other pieces of equipment.
Mrs Patel said: "The council is delighted to have been able to carry out these improvements which will benefit our local young people.
"The council aims to carry out regular improvements to our play areas and this is the latest project that we have undertaken for the benefit of the local community."
She added: "I would like to thank all the councillors of the recreation and community committee for making these improvements happen."
The playground was reopened by the parish council in July, having been closed during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, following a risk assessment and deep cleaning.
