One vehicle ended up in a field and two other vehicles toppled over following a crash on the A1 last night.
The emergency services were called to reports of a collision on the northbound carriageway near the junction for the M25 at around 9.10pm on Tuesday.
Police officers were joined by firefighters and paramedics and a road closure was put in place.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed three vehicles were involved in the crash.
One vehicle ended up on its side, one on its roof, while a third came to a rest in a field next to the A1.
Police have said it did not receive any reports of serious injuries.
All three vehicles were recovered and debris was cleared from the carriageway.
The road reopened at around midnight.
