Watford FC has thanked fans for their support during a “long and difficult” season, which ended with the club being relegated from the Premier League.
The Hornets’ five-year spell in England’s top flight of football came to an end yesterday despite a spirited second-half display in their 3-2 defeat away at Arsenal yesterday.
Now, Watford have just six weeks to prepare for next season in the Championship, with a number of big issues to address following a season in which they won just eight games and sacked three head coaches.
But despite the Hornets being relegated, the club has said that it will “bounce back” following a difficult season.
In a tweet, Watford said: “Thank you for your incredible support in what has been a long and difficult season.
“We are Watford and we will bounce back, together.”
