- There was gridlock in Borehamwood and Elstree this afternoon due to a crash and roadworks.
- -
- Police shut Elstree Hill early this afternoon (Friday) after two cars collided.
- -
- The collision involved a Fiat and a Toyota - no serious injuries were reported.
- -
- As a result, traffic was diverted via Allum Lane, Deacons Hill Road, and Barnet Lane, which caused congestion along these routes.
- -
- The delays were not helped by roadworks in Theobakd Street by Borehamwood Shopping Park.
- -
- This led to delays at the mini-roundabout by Elstree & Borehamwood station, while it also took some time for shoppers to leave the shopping park.
- -
- The roadworks were lifted at around 4pm and Elstree Hill was open by 4.30pm.
- -
- Traffic levels have now returned to normal.
