A Chigwell home made famous by a much-loved sitcom ranks as one of the most expensive (and iconic) homes from British TV.
Tracey Stubbs’ iconic detached upmarket home from Birds of a Feather has been rated as the third most expensive British TV and film home by mortgage comparison website, Bankrate.
Located in the suburbs of Chigwell, the property would set you back £2.5 million – the same cost of the Love Island villa, architectural designer Anamaria Pircu has estimated.
Chigwell has always been a desirable location and favoured by celebrities and footballers alike. With Epping Forest on the doorstep and quick links into London, houses in this area are priced at a premium.
Google data has revealed a massive 350 per cent jump in enquiries about moving house during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
However, not many would be able to stretch their budgets to afford British TV’s most expensive home, the Big Brother house.
Valued at £4.5m, the Big Brother house was demolished in 2019 after 15 seasons, but it still remains one of the most iconic properties in British TV.
Coming in a close second is the famous bright pink Love Actually mews house in London’s luxurious Notting Hill, valued at £3m.
At the other end of the spectrum is the cramped two-bedroom Croydon flat from popular sitcom, Peep Show, valued at £250,000.
