The family of a missing camper has made an emotional appeal for him to come home.

"We miss him terribly and are so concerned for him. Ed – if you see this – please come home.”", Edward Jerram's family said in a statement.

The 21-year-old has not been seen or heard from since Saturday, June 6 when he left his family home in Moreton to go camping.

Detectives are concerned for Edward’s welfare, as he could be considered vulnerable.

In a statement, Edward’s family urged him to come home, saying: “Ed hasn’t been seen since our family dinner on Saturday 6 June. He was in high spirits and didn’t say anything to us about his plans to leave the house.

“A lot of his camping equipment is missing, and we know he loves walking through fields near the village. We just need to make sure he’s okay.

“We miss him terribly and are so concerned for him. Ed – if you see this – please come home.”

He is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall and of very slim build. He has short wavy blonde hair and blue eyes.

Essex Police believe he will be camping locally, so ask dog walkers and ramblers in the Ongar and Uttlesford areas to look out for him.

Edward is believed to be camping in a Jack Wolfskin tent. Police believe he is wearing black jogging bottoms or grey waterproof trousers with a soft shell top.

He has a black waterproof ARC’TERYX coat and a black ARC’TERYX rucksack with him.

Anyone with information about Edward’s whereabouts is asked to call Loughton police station on 101. Alternatively, if you’re with him now, please call 999.
