A CAR was set alight in a late night suspected arson attack.
The vehicle became a ball of flames at Craven Road in the Queens Park area of Brighton last night.
Flames lit up the nearby flats and houses as a fire crew from Roedean was called to the incident at 11.20pm.
The fire service believe the blaze was started deliberately and police were called to investigate the circumstances.
There have been reports of similar incidents of car fires in the Queens Park and Freshfield Road areas.
The fire service said: “At 23:17, Roedean firefighters attended Craven Road, Brighton following reports of a car fire.
“The cause of the fire was deemed deliberate and the incident was handed over to Sussex Police.”
