Rockstar Nick Cave has donated sparkly Gucci socks to help an independent music venue struggling in the coronavirus lockdown.

The singer best known for fronting the band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds decided to do his part to help Trinity Bar in Harrow, which faces closure due to the lack of income during the pandemic.

Trinity Bar is part of a national initiative with hundreds of independent venues launched by the Music Venue Trust, holding a #SaveOurVenues campaign.

On a CrowdFunder page, Trinity owner Christopher Perdue said: “Everyone gets paid but there is very little left at the end of the week. Having already been closed now for 5 weeks the pot of money we have is coming to an end.”

Mr Perdue, who describes himself as a ‘Nick Cave geek’, was offered the sock after other fans reached out to the Rockstar about the situation with Trinity Bar.

The sock had a hand drawn art and inscription saying: “This pair of sparkly socks officially belong to Nick Cave and are worth a f*****g fortune.”

Harrow Times:

Trinity have been holding auctions of rare memorabilia and art to keep itself in business, and the first wave of auctions raised over £4,500.

Now the socks will be part of an upcoming auction today (June 4) at 8pm, which will last a week.

Details about the auction can be found on Facebook or on EBay.

Trinity is well known for being the launch pad for many successful acts, including Kate Nash, Chase & Status, Example, Bastille, Bombay Cycle Club & Scouting for Girls.
