Nursery children have showed their gratitude to the NHS by putting together a montage of artwork that spells out a supportive message.

The children at Fairytales Day Nursery in Elstree are all currently at home due to the lockdown arising from the coronavirus pandemic.

They may not be able to see their friends like they usually would do but they have rallied together to put together a colourful and poignant montage.

One of the nursery's parents', Nicole Lemon, thought it would be a nice idea for her children and their friends to put together something which recognises the NHS in these unprecedented and testing times.

Nicole tasked the nursery children to do their own portion of the message: "We will stay home to protect our NHS we want to stay safe so we can play with our friends and family, 20th April 2020 stay safe."

As you can see in the montage, the children got creative and wrote their part of the message alongside rainbows.

Borehamwood Times:

The pictures were put together by sisters Jade Grant and Kelly Kingshott, who run the nursery.

Jade said: "It is a worrying time for everyone and we have been trying to reassure the children while they've been away.

"This idea was initiated by a parent and it makes me feel so proud seeing them all together.

"It's just really nice to see our little Fairytale community come together, and it also helps the children understand just how great a job the NHS are doing.

"All the parents loved it too."
