A motorcyclist who was involved in a collision yesterday has died, police have confirmed.

A biker riding a black BMW motorcycle sustained serious injuries in a collision which also involved a blue Transit Connect van.

The crash happened in Green Street, Shenley, at around 4.30pm on Monday.

Numerous ambulances, police, and the air ambulance were called to the road and the area was cordoned off.

Police have today said the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The man's family have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

The van driver was not injured and remained at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation into the fatal crash and are appealing for witnesses.

PC Felicity Moody, of the serious collision investigation unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this very sad time.

“I would appeal for anyone who witnessed what happened, has relevant dash cam footage or believes they saw either vehicle prior to the collision to make contact with us.”
