Eleven coronavirus deaths were today announced at east London hospitals.
Barts Health NHS Trust, which runs Whipps Cross Hospital, confirmed a further seven COVID-19 deaths bringing the trust's total to 306.
Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs King George Hospital in Ilford, now has a total death toll of 199 after today announcing four new deaths.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
This means some of the deaths that were first recorded in the last 24 hours may actually have taken place days earlier.
NHS England guidance states: "Confirmation of COVID-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure."
Across the UK a further 596 coronavirus patients have died in hospitals, taking the death toll to at least 16,060, the Department of Health today confirmed.
