A construction site project manager at a housebuilder's "best selling site" has been commended for a second year running.

Bellway, which is building the Hertsmere Mews development off Shenley Road in Borehamwood, has scooped two awards in the housebuilding industry.

Hertsmere Mews project manager Steve Cutting has picked up a Considerate Constructors Award, the second successive year he and his team have won the award.

The honour highlights the best practice in on-site construction work.

Last year, Mr Cutting also won a national housebuilding council (NHBC) quality award and seal of excellence, while the team won an NHBC health and safety award, coming second in the country.

Mr Cuttting said a "happy atmosphere on site" has led to the success.

He said: "If the workforce on site is getting on well that reflects on everything else. Everyone has been on board when it comes to best practices.

"The sub-contractors who have worked on-site with us for the duration of the build programme have also been the best group I’ve ever had to work with."

Rob Sapsford, construction director for Bellway North London, said: "Steve and his team have again shown real consistency at a high level to win another Considerate Constructors Award.

"This is a wonderful achievement especially as Hertsmere Mews is our best-selling site – this means we’re building here at a high rate and need an absolute focus on planning and control. I’d like to congratulate the whole team for what is no mean feat."

Bellway has also achieved a five-star builder status for the fourth year running.

The company has retained the accolade in the latest Home Builders Federation customer satisfaction survey - and measures performance in build quality and customer service.

To achieve the five-star rating, more than 90 per cent of a company's customers must say they would recommend them to a friend. This year, Bellway scored 92.4 per cent and was one of ten large housebuilders to achieve over 90 per cent.

Ali Maruf, managing director of Bellway North London, said: "No one’s opinion matters more to us than that of our customers, so our five-star builder status is something we take enormous pride in. We are committed to delivering the best home possible to each and every one of our buyers so to receive such a positive response from them in the survey is extremely satisfying."
