A huge tree has fallen in Borehamwood but thankfully no one has been injured.
The giant tree came down in Furzehill Road at around 1pm today, narrowly avoiding drivers and any pedestrians in the area.
Emergency services are at the scene and the entire road near Cedars Close is blocked by branches and the tree trunk.
Hertsmere Borough Council leader Morris Bright missed the fall by a matter of minutes.
He had been with his ten-year-old son in Borehamwood when they began travelling up Furzehill Road.
He said: "It must have happened around a minute earlier when we saw this tree across the road. I pulled up sharpish.
"My first concern was whether anyone was trapped underneath. We all checked and thankfully no one was under the tree. Then I called the emergency services."

Cllr Bright also tweeted a video from the scene
Cllr Bright has added that the tree has completely cut through metal posts reiterating just how much of a relief it was that no one has been hit.
He added: "It's a really busy area. You've got people walking back from the synagogue at around this time and drivers passing through."
A man reported on social media that he was driving down and saw the tree fall right in front of him.
One car at the scene was damaged. A windscreen was cracked and appeared to have been caught by some debris.
Fire crews are at the scene alongside the police and the area has been sealed off.
Hertfordshire County Council is also aware.
The tree came down shortly after a torrential hailstorm in Borehamwood which also brought strong wind.
The road is blocked and a complex recovery is required.
There is no access in Furzehill Road between Shakespeare Drive and Hillside Avenue.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area.
