An elderly man has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car on the A10.

The London Ambulance Service were called to the major road at around 5.25am this morning.

A pedestrian, believed to be aged in his 70s, was found injured and a car that hit him was at the scene too along with the driver.

It happened on the A10 Great Cambridge Road, near Bush Hill Park.

The man has been taken to hospital where police say his condition is not life-threatening.

Enquiries into the collision are ongoing. No arrests have been made.

Police shut the A10 during the rush hour, resulting in heavy traffic on the A10 which backed up to the M25.

Roads in and around Ponders End, Bush Hill Park, and other parts of Enfield were much busier too this morning as a result of the closure.

The A10 is now fully open and the delays have cleared.
