People in Borehamwood are invited to be a part of a live studio audience for a new ITV comedy.

Kate & Koji is a sitcom about the owner of a seaside café, and an asylum-seeking African doctor, written by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, who together created hit BBC show Outnumbered.

Kate & Koji will star award-winning actress Brenda Blethyn, Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison, Barbara Flynn, Jimmy Akingbola, and Meera Syal.

Blethyn plays Kate, the owner of a seaside cafe who forms a friendship with Koji, an African asylum-seeker, played by Jimmy Akingbola.

Harrison will play Kate’s nephew Medium Dave, while Syal guest stars as a GP who could get Koji deported.

Flynn, who will play Councillor Bone, Kate’s lifelong arch-enemy.

The six-part show will be recorded in front of a live audience at the BBC Elstree Centre in Eldon Avenue, Borehamwood.

Recordings will take place on Thursday January 23, and then on every Friday between Friday January 24 and Friday February 28.
