A Wetherspoons pub in St Albans is flush with success after it won a prize for the quality of its toilets.

Waterend Barn in St Peters Street was praised in the company's Loo of the Year Awards 2019.

Judges gave the pub a gold rating after making unannounced visits to thousands of toilets across the country.

The women's toilets have a gold and red interior with marble sinks and to the side of the toilets have a red velvet covered room.

Waterend Barn manager Stephen Baldwin said: “We’re delighted with the award.

“Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in first class condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors.”
