Grab your finest tinsel and twinkliest jingliest elf hat, because Elf Day is back! Alzheimer’s Society is calling on everyone – from businesses to schools in Harrow – to let their inner elf out to play by taking part in Elf Day, which is guaranteed to raise your Christmas spirit and vital funds for dementia.

Elf Day brings together friends, family and colleagues by getting them to take part in the fun by dressing like an elf to support people affected by dementia. People across the country will be donning their festive elf ears, tights and jingly shoes to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society on Friday, December 6.

Dementia is now the 21st Century’s biggest killer, with 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK. All the money raised this Elf Day, by its little, and not-so-little, helpers will provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

The Alzheimer’s Society is looking for local schools and businesses in Harrow to join in the fun to help us get closer to a world without dementia. It’s really easy to take part – just sign up for one of our free Elf Day fundraising kits by visiting alzheimers.org.uk/elfday. Our Fundraising pack includes posters, a chief elf badge, a mince pie recipe and other fundraising ideas.

If you don’t feel like dressing up in an elf outfit you could simply bake some delicious Christmassy treats for donations. Other fun activity ideas in our fundraising kit includes selling ‘Scrooge Passes’ for a suggested donation of £5 to anyone who opts out and raising sponsorship to persuade the company manager or a head teacher to wear an elf outfit!

Whether you are doing the school run, popping to the shops or going to the gym, make sure you tag us into your social media posts using our hashtag #elfday so we can see your elf-tastic outfits. I hope you will join us this Elf Day for fancy dress, sugary treats, music and games. It’s jolly good fun, guaranteed – and you will be joining thousands of elves around the country by uniting against dementia this December.
