Firefighters tackled a blaze at some derelict homes in Borehamwood at the weekend.
Crews from Borehamwood and Watford were called to Warenford Way, off Brook Road, on Saturday morning.
When three crews arrived at the scene of the fire, they saw the blaze had developed and a further two crews were called.
In total, the flames spread to three properties but firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The homes in Windsor Close, off Warenford Way, are currently empty but housing association Clarion Housing has plans to redevelop the site.
An application for 43 new homes, all of which will be affordable, will be considered by the planning committee at Hertsmere Borough Council.
A Clarion Housing spokesman said: "We continue to take steps to make the site at Windsor Close as safe and secure as possible. We are intending to deliver new affordable homes on the site, subject to securing the necessary planning permission and funding."
