A charity which loans scooters to people with mobility issues has a new chairman.
John Horsfield has been elected as the new chairman of Shopmobility after using the charity services for several years.
Shopmobility, which is based in the CitiPark Church carpark, offers electric scooters and wheelchairs to people in Watford.
Mr Horsfield said: “Without Shopmobility I, like so many other disabled people, would have had real difficulty accessing Watford shops, offices and restaurants.
"The service must encourage disabled visitors and their families to come to Watford.
"The competition of the new town centre has already led to an increase in the number of people using the service.
“Shopmobility is a vital asset to Watford, well supported by the Watford Borough Council and donations and it is something we can all be proud of.
"The charity has a wonderful group of volunteers who support our small staff and I am looking forward to working with the team.”
