AN ELDERLY woman died in hospital after suffering a fall on the ward, an inquest heard.
Molly Mary Page, 79, of Wangfield Lane, Curdridge near Bishop's Waltham, died at Southampton General Hospital.
The inquest into her death at Winchester Coroner's Court on Wednesday October 2 heard Ms Page had been admitted to hospital on September 16 with a shortness of breath.
While in hospital, Ms Page suffered a fall. She died surrounded by her family on September 26.
Dr Kate Akester, consultant in acute and general medicine, provided a preliminary cause of death as a heart attack due to a fall and leg fracture, with chronic anaemia, primary Addison's disease, old tuberculosis and bile duct stones listed as contributing factors.
Acting area coroner Samantha Marsh adjourned the inquest until February 5, 2020.
