Two masked men threatened shop staff with scissors before stealing cigarettes, cash and lottery tickets in Chalfont St Giles on Friday.

Just after 9pm on September 20, the masked duo went into the Co-Op in the High Street and threatened a staff member with scissors before they jumped over the counter.

They stole cigarettes and lottery tickets before forcing open the tills to loot the cash.

The two men then fled to where another person was waiting in a dark coloured hatchback and they made their escape.

The first of the men who entered the shop is described as having a slim build and was wearing a grey hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and red gloves. He was wearing a black mask and was carrying a black recycling box.

The second man is described as having a slim build and was wearing a green hooded top with a black jacket over the top, grey jogging bottoms and black gloves. He was carrying a black bag.

The third person in the getaway car had their face covered.

Fortunately no one was injured in the terrifying robbery.

Police are hoping to speak to a man who was entering the shop as the robbers were fleeing the scene as he may have seen something important.

Investigating officer DC Lucie Roberts from Aylesbury Police Station said: “This is an appeal for any witnesses to the incident who were in the area at that time, however we are specifically wanting to identify a man who entered the store as the offenders were fleeing with the stolen items.

"He turned to watch the offenders get into a vehicle, and then entered the store. We are asking him to get in touch as he may be able to provide more detail on the offender’s vehicle.”
